1:10 p.m. R1 5 Brazen Affair (3 f Brazen Beau – Southern Romance) – Michael McNab; she unfortunately reared as the gates opened and made up a lot of ground near the rail for fifth when trialling on 29 October at Waipa. Resuming in the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres, she has been very good through her trials' stage, and rates a top three chance if can can snare some luck from barrier nine. Fixed odds: $3.10 & $1.40. 

1:45 p.m. R2 2 Carsolio (2 c Bivouac – Whitehaven) – Michael McNab; he sprang out from barrier one to lead at a genuine pace, quickened clear on straightening, and looked good in his fluid action when going on to score impressively by nine lengths in a trial on 29 October at Waipa. Debuting in the $18,500 2YO 1000 metres, he is by three-time Group winner and Champion Male Sprinter in Australia Bivouac (Exceed And Excel) - the family of Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver (Medaglia d’Oro) - and is ideally drawn (4) to make an impression on debut.
