2:10 p.m. R4 8 Presence Of Mind (3 f Fastnet Rock – Supreme Mind) – Hayley Hassman (a2); she found the line into midfield after settling back from a wide draw (10) in the Maiden 1200 metres on 4 April at Ellerslie, has been given time (29 days) to bounce back, and contests the $17,000 Maiden 2YO & Up 1000 metres. She finished strongly for a close third when resuming at the starts prior, has the apprentice weight relief to 54.5kg, and rates a top three chance from a nice barrier slot (3). Fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.90.

2:48 p.m. R5 1 Carsolio (3 g Bivouac – Whitehaven) – Hayley Hassman (a2); he fought well for a close fourth on Heavy8 going after sharing the pace in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 1 April at Pukekohe, also with Haylie aboard. He's another who has been patiently handled and given time (32 days), and contests the $17,000 Rating 65 1000 metres. Continuing to race well, he course/distance placed on debut as two-year-old, and has the ability to make an impact on this field from his handy barrier (6). Fixed odds: $2.25 & $1.20.
