Te Akau Racing has 29 horses entered on Wednesday 24 August at Taupo.

Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 3 metres from 800m - 400m, remainder out 1 metre. No rain forecast.

1:04 p.m. R3 1 Belle of the Ball (4 m Savabeel - Lady Tatia) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); ended her previous campaign in good form, running the fastest last 600m (34.6) for second in the Warstep Stakes (Listed, 2000m) on 23 April at Riccarton. She trialled well for second and first, respectively, and resumes in the $14,000 Maiden Fillies & Mares 1300 metres with weight relief to 54.5kg. She has been working well and rates a top three prospect - one of four in the event for the stable.

1:04 p.m. R3 3 Illicit Miss (4 m Hinchinbrook - Unlawful) - Craig Grylls; followed three consecutive seconds by finishing fifth in the Lowland Stakes (Gr. 2, 2100m) on 2 March at Hastings. She ran home very well for second in a trial on 16 August at Avondale, and also resumes in the $14,000 Maiden Fillies & Mares 1300 metres. She has the consistency to rate top three from barrier four.

1:04 p.m. R3 4 Savito (4 m Savabeel - Suavito) - Opie Bosson; ended her previous campaign finishing second to stable-mate She's A Showoff (Showcasing) in the Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres on 8 June at Matamata, and is another resuming in the $14,000 Maiden Fillies & Mares 1300 metres. She made good ground for second in a trial on 16 August at Avondale, has trialled well on course, and look for her finishing strongly as a top three chance.

1:04 p.m. R3 5 Trieste (4 m Tivaci - Domani Oro) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); freshened after finishing third in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres on 8 June at Matamata, she sustained a very good finish for second in a trial on 16 August at Avondale, and resumes too in the $14,000 Maiden Fillies & Mares 1300 metres. She could get into the finish with the right trip from barrier nine.

1:40 p.m. R4 1 Navalha (5 g Sebring - Afiado) - Troy Harris; ended his previous campaign in good form, finishing fourth in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 30 April at Te Rapa, and following two trials he resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres. A strong finisher with ability to act fresh, he however requires luck from barrier 10 - in a race with a stable quartet of contestants.

1:40 p.m. R4 2 Outfit (4 m Tivaci - Costume) - Opie Bosson; finished strongly for second in the Oaks Prelude (Listed, 1600m) in February at Pukekohe, and ended her campaign after contesting the Sunline Vase (Gr. 3, 2100m) in March at Ellerslie. She ran home strongly to win a trial on 16 August at Avondale, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres. She is capable of a top three finish with any luck from the awkward barrier nine.

1:40 p.m. R4 10 Hayate (4 m Maurice - Vamoose) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); showed natural ability with a debut victory in the Pearl Series Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres on 13 May at Matamata, defeating subsequent dual winner Silverina (Contributer). Following two trials, she resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres. One from one, she can certainly figure in the finish.

1:40 p.m. R4 11 Luxuriant (5 m Iffraaj - Opulent) - Craig Grylls; sustained a huge run to win a trial here on 19 April and resumed winning a Maiden 1200 metres on 27 April at Hawera. Second in both trials as she has prepared to resume, she has first four claims in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres.

2:15 p.m. R5 1 Zeitaku (4 g Savabeel - Miss Opulence) - Troy Harris; has been gelded since contesting the Levin Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m) - a Te Akau first four - in March at Trentham, and was solid in two trials preparing to resume. He recorded a notable fourth here last season to subsequent Group Two & Three winner Dark Destroyer (Proisir) and can make an impact fresh-up in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres - in an event featuring five stable starters.

2:15 p.m. R5 2 Luxembourg (4 g Burgundy - Miss Daphne) - Opie Bosson; led throughout for a fresh-up victory in the Maiden 1200 metres on 22 May at Hawera, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres. With two trials in preparation, he shapes to race well from barrier two.

2:15 p.m. R5 4 Fashion Shoot (5 m Savabeel - High Fashion) - Craig Grylls; finished an eye-catching third in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 26 February at Matamata, ending a solid season, and looked good winning a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa. Twice a winner over 1200 metres, she acts well when fresh, has placed on the course, and rates a top prospect if she receives any luck from the tricky barrier 11 in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres.

2:15 p.m. R5 10 Madame Moet (5 m Iffraaj - Champagne Katie) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); beat subsequent Sunline Vase (Gr. 3, 2100m) winner Bellatrix Black (Redwood) over 1600 metres in January at Matamata. Spelled in May, she trialled twice preparing to resume in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres, enjoys weight relief to 53.5kg, and has the capability to deliver a first four finish from barrier three.

2:15 p.m. R5 12 She's A Showoff (4 m Showcasing - Que Sera) - Lisa Allpress; handled wet conditions with aplomb when winning a Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres on 8 June at Matamata, running the fastest last 600m (38.4) on the day. She let down nicely in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa, has trialled well on the course, and is a top three prospect from barrier five in the $14,000 Rating 65 1300 metres.

2:50 p.m. R6 1 Perfect Scenario (5 g Iffraaj - Rosetti Bay) - Tayla Mitchell (a4); scored by a wide margin in a Rating 74 1550 metres on 11 February at Awapuni, and ended his campaign finishing fifth to stable-mate Prise De Fer (Savabeel) in the Open 1500 metres on 5 March at Ellerslie. He finished very well for second in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa, has weight relief to 60kg, and is capable of a bold fresh-up performance in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres - in a race with six stable representatives.

2:50 p.m. R6 2 Aotea Lad (6 g Savabeel - Corsage) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); finished strongly for fourth to stable-mate Prise De Fer (Savabeel) in the Open 1500 metres on 5 March at Ellerslie, and was spelled after finishing fourth in the Open 1600 metres on 20 March at Tauranga. Following thirds in both trials, he also resumes in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres. Drawn barrier two, with weight relief to 59.5kg, he is a consistent performer and looks a top four proposition.

2:50 p.m. R6 3 Mohawk Brave (4 g Extreme Choice - Ben's Duchess) - Troy Harris; raced very well to win three of five last season and ended his campaign finishing fourth to stable-mate Imperatriz (I Am Invincible) in the Levin Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m) - a Te Akau first four - in March at Trentham. He quickened well for fourth in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa, dashed home to win a trial here last October, and from barrier five in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres, he can pay a dividend.

2:50 p.m. R6 4 Amalfi Prince (4 g Sebring - Campania) - Opie Bosson; ended his previous campaign winning the Manawatu Classic (Gr. 3, 2000m) on 2 April at Awapuni, and ran home solidly for fourth in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa. He wound up late for second to stable-mate Image Of You (Pins) when debuting here last October, and look for him getting home strongly in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres.

2:50 p.m. R6 9 Synchronize (4 m Savabeel - Splits) - Craig Grylls; impressed winning a 3YO 1400 metres on 14 May at Rotorua, running the fastest last 600m (34.1) on the day. Winner of three from six, she performs best if allowed to settle, and has class to be prominent in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres.

2:50 p.m. R6 14 La Flora Belle (5 m Iffraaj - Tsarina Belle) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); impressed winning a Maiden 1600 metres by four and a half lengths on 23 February at Pukekohe, and repeated the dose winning a Rating 65 1600 metres on 25 March at Hawera. She has looked very good finishing second in two preparatory trials and could offer the surprise package with right trip from barrier 10 in the $14,000 Rating 75 1300 metres.

3:29 p.m. R7 1 I Choose You (3 f I Am Invincible - Choose) - Ryan Elliot; was a debut winner and twice Group Three placed during her two-year-old season, and was third in both trials preparing to resume in the $40,000 3YO Fillies 1100 metres. Ideally drawn (2), she has the credentials to present as a top three chance - the first of four stable runners contesting this event

3:29 p.m. R7 6 Dignitosa (3 f Xtravagant - Infra Dig) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); won a trial on the bridle before running the fastest last 600m (34.6) for second on debut in the Pearl Series Maiden 2YO 1050 metres on 30 March at Matamata. She kept giving for second in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa, carries the lightweight of 52.5kg in the $40,000 3YO Fillies 1100 metres and should race well if appreciative of the track conditions.

3:29 p.m. R7 8 Romancing The Moon (3 f El Roca - Underthemoonlight) - Kozzi Asano; raced clear for a big trial win on 4 August at Te Rapa, and won well again on 16 August at Avondale. On debut in the $40,000 3YO Fillies 1100 metres, from a mare that impressed winning on slow and heavy ground, she needs luck from outside gate (9) but has been training well.

3:29 p.m. R7 9 Sans Doute (3 f Not A Single Doubt - My Prerogative) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); has looked very good winning all three trials and debuts in the $40,000 3YO Fillies 1100 metres. From a fast family that includes 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) winner Ugo Foscolo (Zacinto), she has the speed to utilise barrier three and has the talent to make her presence felt.

4:04 p.m. R8 2 Fellini (3 g Belardo - Silke Top) - Opie Bosson; had terrific juvenile season, winning two from four and finishing third to stable-mate Dynastic (Almanzor) in the Karaka Million 2YO (Restricted Listed, 1200m). He kept finding for third in a trial on 4 August at Te Rapa, has finished second in a trial here, and has the record to suggest a solid resumption in the $14,000 3YO Colts & Geldings 1100 metres featuring three for trainer Mark Walker.

He won a trial here in April, has drawn the ace (1) in the $14,000 3YO Colts & Geldings 1100 metres and from that draw rates a top chance.

4:04 p.m. R8 4 Stonybreck (3 g Tavistock - Fair Isle) - Craig Grylls; won a trial on 19 July and debuted winning a Maiden 970 metres in track record time on 3 August, both at Cambridge (poly-track). He has the pedigree and type to get further, but has looked solid through the trials' stage and could race boldly fresh-up over the sprint trip.

4:38 p.m. R9 9 Skew Wiff (3 f Savabeel - Starvoia) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); closed late for fifth when debuting in a Maiden 2YO 1000 metres on 3 January at Te Aroha, won by stable-mate Kabugee (Satono Aladdin), and posted a big run for second in the 2YO 1100 metres on 9 February at Ruakaka. With strong efforts for second in two preparatory trials, she has credentials to rate a top three prospect in the $14,000 Maiden 1200 metres but requires luck from wide draw (11).
