Te Akau Taupo Preview
18 August, 2016
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the eight race programme on Friday 19 August at Taupo.
As on Thursday 18 August the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.
1.05 p.m. R2 9 Corporate Missile (3 f Smart Missile - Corporate) - Matt Cameron; was compelling over the concluding stages to win a trial on August 2 at Te Teko, with apprentice Jasmine Fawcett aboard, and resumes in the Maiden 1000 metres. She contested two strong races as a two-year-old, is stronger now, and finding the line off a wide gate would be encouraging.
3.25 p.m. R6 6 Love Triangle (4 m Encosta De Lago - Love Diamonds) - Matt Cameron; trialled very well for second to multiple stakes' winner Rasa Lila (Darci Brahma) at Te Teko, and resumes in the Rating 65 1300 metres. Patiently handled, she won on debut in August last year after a classy trial win and appears a ready-made favourite from barrier four.
4.42 p.m. R8 12 O'Naturelle (3 f O'Reilly - Naturo) - Matt Cameron; has looked very good winning both her trials, in April and August at Te Teko and makes her debut from barrier five in the Maiden 1200 metres. From the talented Matamata Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m) and Highview Stakes (Gr. 3, 1200m) winner Naturo (Postponed), a debutante winner herself, she looks ideally placed to follow suit.
