Te Akau Taupo Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 18 August at Taupo.
As on race morning, the conditions were: fine and Slow8, rail true. 1.5mls rain forecast Thursday.

4.09 p.m. R7 8 Coup Bradman (3g Darci Brahma - Bosphorus) - Cameron Lammas; sat outside the leader in a good trial performance for second to stablemate Wandering Eye (Commands) over 820 metres on 1 August at Te Teko - the latter having finished an eye-catching second on debut this week. Although bred to make his mark over more ground, he has been consistent at the trials and boasts a strong second to stable-mate and Champion Two-Year-Old nominee Melody Belle (Commands). On debut and drawn barrier seven in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres, he can take up a handy position.

4.09 p.m. R7 12 Poppin' Bubbles (3f Rock ‘N' Pop - Princess Caga) - Danielle Johnson; has pleased in her work since getting home well for second in a trial over 820 metres on 1 August at Te Teko, and resumes off 115 days in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres. Drawing the outside barrier (12) may be of little consequence if the pattern suits horses racing away from the rail. She is a lovely example of her sire, who won the 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) for the Te Akau Rock ‘N' Pop Syndicate, and has a good deal of precocity.

Note - Gingernuts and Imperium will trial at Taupo prior to the commencement of racing
