Te Akau Taupo Trials' Report

Three trials were staged, for stakes' performed horses, prior to racing on Wednesday at Taupo - showery and Slow7. 

Te Akau trialled two horses: Windborne and Wolfwhistle. 

Heat 2 Open 1200 metres (¾ lengths, 3 lengths 1:14.1)

Wolfwhistle (5 g O'Reilly - Legs) - Matt Cameron; lobbed into a beautiful spot fourth on the outer, before improving to second at the 400m and having the first outing for some time his condition just gave out inside the final 200m.

Heat 3 Open 1000 metres (long head, head 1:01.1)

Windborne (3 f Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) - Cameron Lammas (main picture and below with the Fortuna team); travelled keenly on the inner before steadying to trail and staying to the rail, as horses swooped wider out, she ran home without urging.
