Te Akau Racing has five horses entered on Wednesday 20 October at Tauranga.

Weather: Overcast, track: Slow9, rail: out 6 metres. No rain forecast.

1.05 p.m. R1 6 Miss Lovato  (3 f Astern - Demilune) - Danielle Johnson; looked good at trials and ran equal fastest last 600m (35.3) when finishing second on debut in Maiden 3YO 1230 metres on 29 September at Rotorua. From a good family with plenty of speed, she rates top three chance from barrier two in $12,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres.

1.05 p.m. R1 10 Kai  (3 f Ocean Park - Brilliant Blush) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); found plenty to win when trialling on 28 September at Cambridge (poly-track), and debuts in $12,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. She has trial form behind current 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) favourite There You Go (Niagara), weight relief to 53.5kg, but requires luck from awkward draw (9).

1.40 p.m. R2 12 Outfit (3 f Tivaci - Costume) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); held second comfortably when trialling on 28 September at Cambridge (poly-track), and debuts in $12,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. From dual Group 1 winner Costume (Savabeel), impressive from 1400m - 2000m, she has weight relief to 53.5kg but requires luck from wide draw (13).

2.15 p.m. R3 1 Flat Track Bully (4 g Reliable Man - Lime Squeeze) - Craig Grylls; did well from wide draw (10) when second on debut in Maiden 1300 metres on 2 September and followed with strong finishing third in corresponding race on 22 September, both at Cambridge (poly-track). Contesting $12,000 Maiden 1200 metres, he rates top three chance with luck from draw (11).

2.15 p.m. R3 12 D'Oro Mexicano  (4 m Vancouver - Mexican Rose) - Danielle Johnson; won both trials in September at Cambridge (poly-track), most recently when drawing clear by two and a half lengths, and resumes in $12,000 Maiden 1200 metres. Beautifully bred, by Golden Slipper (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner, from Champion 2YO & 3YO in Singapore, she rates a top three chance from barrier three.
