Te Akau Tauranga Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the ten race programme on Friday 11 December at Tauranga.

As on Thursday 10 December the conditions were: overcast and Good3; rail out 5.5 metres.

2.18 p.m. R5 2 Scandinavian (4 g Dylan Thomas - Blanche Amelia) - Michael McNab; resumed over 1400 metres and has the addition of blinkers and a tongue tie in the Maiden 1600 metres. A staying horse on type and pedigree, an improved showing is sought.

3.28 p.m. R7 13 Osmunda (5 m O'Reilly - Wyndam Special) - Cameron Lammas; was caught out wide and felt the pinch having worked to lead on Nov. 28 in the Rating 75 2040 metres at Wanganui. Back in distance for the Rating 75 1400 metres, she may require a drop in grade to prove more competitive.

4.37 p.m. R9 17 Babilloni (5 g Cecconi - Babillard) - Mark Du Plessis; held a midfield position to finish seventh on Nov. 25 in the Rating 65 1600 metres at Te Rapa, and contests the corresponding event. Currently second on the ballot, he could gain a start and if so would be at lengthy odds from a wide draw.
