Te Akau Tauranga Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 9 December at Tauranga.

As on Thursday 8 December the conditions were: raining and Dead4, rail out 7 metres. 9mls rain forecast Thursday, fine race day.

12.45 p.m. R1 7 Madam Monica (3 f Mastercraftsman - Lynisky) - Matt Cameron; was drawn wide and staged a terrific performance for third, covering a lot of extra ground from the rear, in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres on 27 November at Te Rapa, following a strong second to stable-mate Tiffany's Time (Alamosa) in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres at Avondale. Bringing the right form to threaten in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres, she has copped another bad draw (14) and will be reliant on a genuine pace and luck in running to force the issue.

4.49 p.m. R8 12 Kuia (3 f Guillotine - Triage) - Cameron Lammas; showed gate speed to race handily and fought hard for fifth on debut in the Maiden 1400 metres on 23 November at Te Aroha, with Lammas aboard, and steps up to a mile here. Entitled to be solidly supported, with a few rivals in similar form from Te Aroha, natural improvement should see her right in the mix and dead ground hold no qualms.
