Te Akau Tauranga Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Wednesday 21 December at Tauranga.

As on Tuesday 20 December the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail out 10 metres. No rain forecast.

5.07 p.m. R7 11 Pure Savalina (3 f Savabeel - Catalina) - Cameron Lammas; had the pace to take up a position three back on the inner and fought bravely in tight quarters for fifth to winning stable-mate Alamosa Express (Alamosa) on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres at Pukekohe, with Lammas aboard. From a mare that won up to 2100 metres, she should appreciate stepping to 1400 metres and rates an each way chance having run home in 34.7 (600m).

6.18 p.m. R9 10 Fashionably (3 f Redoute's Choice - Scarlett Lady) - Matt Cameron; found the line stylishly for second on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1100 metres at New Plymouth, running home in 34.5 (600m) with Cameron aboard, and steps up in the Maiden 1400 metres. Ideally drawn again in barrier five, her dual Group One winning dam Scarlett Lady (Savabeel) was beaten a half-head here at her second start, over 1400 metres in December, with this jockey aboard, and her daughter has the right attributes to go one better.
