Te Akau Tauranga Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has five horses racing on Friday 19 October at Tauranga.

As on Thursday 18 October the conditions were: cloudy and Dead5, rail out 8.5 metres. No rain forecast.

2.09 p.m. R2 2 Pacific Coast (4 g Snitzel - Malibu Road) - Nik Bakar (a4); ran a notable fourth after leading fresh-up in the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres on 26 September at Matamata, in a good form race, and contests the corresponding event. Drawn (3) to receive cover and claiming to 54.5kgs, he possesses the ability and overall form to rate a top three chance.

2.44 p.m. R3 7 Seirios (4 g Pierro - Irish Lights) - Opie Bosson; resumed with a win in the Rating 65 1400 metres and followed up with a solid third in the Rating 72 1600 metres, 12 & 26 September at Matamata, ridden in each by Te Akau apprentice Nik Bakar. Equally as proficient right-handed, with a first and second, he has drawn the outside barrier (12) in the $11,000 Rating 72 1600 metres but certainly looks a player.

2.44 p.m. R3 11 Lady Zeraph (4 m Makfi - Zatiger) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); provided the Te Akau apprentice with a winning first ride when scoring fresh-up in the NZB Pearl Series Rating 65 1350 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus) on 27 September at Waipukurau. Up in grade for the $11,000 Rating 72 1600 metres, but claiming to 51.5kgs, drawn to receive a nice trip from barrier five and winning two from four should see her in the mix.

5.39 p.m. R8 2 Jet Set (4 g Savabeel - Society Lady) - Shafiq Rusof; made ground from off the pace when trialling over 1010 metres on 25 September at Te Teko, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. Drawn out a touch (10), he has trial experience and receives an ideal opportunity to produce an encouraging performance.

5.39 p.m. R8 12 Pinultimate (3 f Pins - Lost In Dubai) - Matt Cameron; debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. She finished strongly for third to subsequent dual winning stable-mate Our Flying Ace (Darci Brahma) when trialling over 1010 metres in August at Te Teko. A half-sister to Sistema Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) runner-up Star Treasure (Lonhro), she can prove competitive from barrier four.
