3.29 p.m. R6 4 Embellish (3 c Savabeel - Bling) - Leith Innes; provided Te Akau with their sixth 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) winner, last November at Riccarton, and spelled in March following an unlucky eighth in the $1m Australian Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) at Flemington. Trialling on 18 October at Waipa, he jumped well to lead, travelled boldly on the bridle, well rated and won nicely in the fastest of three open 1150-metre heats.

An outstanding specimen, he resumes from barrier five in the $35,000 Open 1300 metres and has the class to prove a factor fresh-up. Fixed odds: $2.40 & $1.10.
