Te Akau Tauranga Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Friday 14 December at Tauranga (twilight meeting).

As on Thursday 13 December the conditions were: overcast and Dead6, rail out 5 metres. No rain forecast.

4.10 p.m. R3 1 Motivation (4 g Mastercraftsman - Tenacity) - Opie Bosson; missed racing because of the abandonment last Thursday at New Plymouth. He continued his solid form when finishing third off a wide run in the Rating 72 1600 metres on 13 November at Te Aroha, drops in grade for the $10,000 Rating 65 2100 metres and looks hard to beat in this field.

5.18 p.m. R4 20 Qiji Crystal (3 f Per Incanto - Moss Lady) - rider to be advised; missed racing because of the abandonment last Thursday at New Plymouth. She staged a big effort for third after being awkwardly away when trialling on 1 November at Te Aroha, and worked home well for fourth on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 15 November at Awapuni. Suited by stepping in distance for the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres, she appears an each way prospect from barrier six. Currently on the ballot, failure to make the field could see her line up in Race 4 (4.44 p.m.).

5.50 p.m. R6 3 Pacific Coast (4 g Snitzel - Malibu Road) - Opie Bosson; made it three wins from eight starts with victory in the Rating 72 1200 metres on 5 December at Pukekohe, with Bosson aboard, and remains in the same grade with a 1.5kgs penalty for the $11,000 Rating 72 1400 metres. He scored a comprehensive win here over 1200 metres in October and ideally drawn (4) to threaten again.
