Te Akau New Zealand has one horse racing on Friday 18 January at Tauranga.
As on Thursday 17 January the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 6.5 metres. No rain forecast.
2.22 p.m. R3 1 Beaumarchais (5 g Savabeel - Almaviva) - Matt Cameron; ran comparative time (last 600m 34.6) when finding the line in a leader dominated Rating 82 1600 metres on 3 January at Te Aroha, and steps up in the Rating 82 2100 metres. He races well here, finished fourth to stable-mate Gingernuts (Iffraaj) in the NZ Derby (Gr. 1, 2400m) before a second in the Manawatu Classic (Gr. 3, 2000m) as a three-year-old, and although carrying top weight (59kgs) he should go well from barrier three.
