Te Akau Tauranga Saturday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Saturday 22 July at Tauranga. 

Weather: Fine, track: Heavy9, rail: true. No rain past 24 hours. 

1:25 p.m. R3 1 Millefiori (4 m Iffraaj - Miss Bluebell) - Jessica Allen (a4); she recorded her fourth win this year in the Rating 86 1400 metres last Saturday at Ruakaka, also with Allen aboard, and contests the $35,000 Rating 89 1200 metres. Winner of three from four on the course, the weight relief to 56kg is key, and she rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $2.00 & $1.10.   

4:18 p.m. R8 6 Fay Khan It (4 m Mongolian Khan - Morgan Le Fay) - Jessica Allen (a4); drew out to win the Rating 60 1560 metres on 5 July at Rotorua, and contests the $30,000 Rating 65 1600 metres. A winner here in May on Heavy10 in the Maiden High-weight 1600 metres, weight relief to 53.5kg, she meets stronger field but brings right form. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $2.10. 

4:18 p.m. R8 9 Popthebubbles (3 f Wrote - Vickezzlepin) - Vinnie Colgan; raced clear to win by over six lengths in the Maiden 1600 metres on 23 June at Wanganui, and did well for fifth in much stronger field for the 3YO 1400 metres on 8 July at Awapuni. Barrier two could prove tricky if better footing out wide, but going well and should race accordingly. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.70.
