Te Akau Tauranga Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Sunday 11 February at Tauranga.

5:08 p.m. R7 3 Freeze Frame (4 g Vadamos – Snow Petal) – Craig Grylls; he came from back in the field with a strong run for second to race rival Chakana (Reliable Man) in the Rating 75 1400 metres here on 12 January, and contests the $40,000 Rating 75 1600 metres. He has three wins to 1200 metres to his credit, but shapes as though the mile will suit and looks a top three prospect with luck from a wide draw (12). Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.90. 

5:08 p.m. R7 5 Sophisticardo (5 g Burgundy – Glamorous Girl) – Matt Cameron; he ran the fastest last 600m (35.8) for third to stable-mate Stella Splendida (Zoustar) in the Rating 75 1200 metres on 30 December at Taupo, and was held up at a vital stage before finishing fourth in the Rating 75 1400 metres on 24 January at Matamata. He finds the line well and should race competitively if appreciative of the course at his first attempt. Fixed odds: $12.00 & $3.80.
