Te Akau: Te Akau NZ Taranaki Preview
Date: 8 Apr 2013
Two Te Akau runner travel to New Plymouth on Monday.
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight-race programme on Monday April 8 at New Plymouth.
As at 8:18am on Thursday April 4 the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail out seven metres.
1:45pm R3 6 Secret Whisper (4 g Align - Danewhisper) - Matt Cameron; got back off a wide gate and standing the leader nine lengths at the 600 metres he closed the margin to a length when fourth resuming on March 25 in the Benchmark 75 1400 metres at Matamata. Both wins have been second-up and he has drawn nicely in barrier six for the Benchmark 75 1600 metres. Although meeting a solid field, he should strike yielding ground to suit and boasts the athleticism to prove competitive if he appreciates this course.
2:55pm R5 8 Cold Snap (4 m Pins - Forty Two Below) - Matt Cameron; resumes from a spell in the Benchmark 75 1200 metres, having trialled nicely on March 12 at Cambridge. From a good winning family that displayed ability with give in the ground, she embarks on a fresh campaign at the right time of year. Able to snare some economy in the run from barrier eight, she has the form to fight out the finish.
