Te Akau: Te Akau NZ Te Rapa Preview

Te Akau NZ lines up three horses at the Waikato Racing Club's meeting at Te Rapa.

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the eight-race programme on Wednesday March 27 at Te Rapa.

As at 10:10am on Saturday March 23 the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail in the true position - irrigating.

1:45pm R2 5 Enchanter (3 g Saperavi - Ensorcelez) - Matt Cameron; travelled easily in eighth and although finishing back in the field he displayed a good action when debuting on March 13 in the Maiden 1200 metres at Matamata. Destined to step up in ground, the 1400 metres will work in his favour and with blinkers on for the first time he has drawn nicely in barrier two.

4:05pm R6 6 Red on Black (3 g Red Clubs - Palais Jamai) - Matt Cameron; travelled on the bridle in the trail, challenged two off at the 200 metres and ran home strongly to win a trial over 1550 metres on March 12 at Cambridge. He now makes his debut over 1600 metres. He strikes opponents with solid form and should be able to secure an economical trip from barrier six.

4:40pm R7 7 No Nonsense (3 g O'Reilly - Censibelle) - Matt Cameron; travelled firmly on the bridle, pinched a rails run and under minimal urging finished close up third in a strong trial field on March 12 over 1200 metres at Cambridge. Resuming from a 68-day break in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres, he broke Maidens second-up, over a mile, in his first campaign and should receive a favourable trip from barrier four.
