Te Akau Te Aroha Midweek Preview
Date: 11 Nov 2024
Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Tuesday 12 November at Te Aroha.
Te Aroha:
Weather: cloudy, track: Soft6, rail: true. No rain forecast.
12:42 p.m. R1 6 By Her Rules (3 f Kermadec – Empress Cixi) – Michael McNab; she finished strongly for third after being clear late in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres here on 30 October, and contests the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1150 metres. Gaining experience from three starts, she is ideally drawn (4) to pose a realistic top three chance. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.50.
1:49 p.m. R3 6 Celestial Wonder (3 f Xtravagant – Meteoric Lass) – Michael McNab; she worked forward from the outside gate (12) to sit outside the leader and fought hard for a close second when debuting in the Maiden 1200 metres here on 30 October. Contesting the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1150 metres, she won two of three trials before racing, and looks capable of paying a dividend. Fixed odds: $2.90 & $1.40.
4:04 p.m. R7 10 Ocean Miss (3 f Ocean Park – Runway) – Michael McNab; she found the line well for fourth (after the track was downgraded to Heavy8) when debuting in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres here on 30 October, and contests the $18,500 Maiden 1400 metres. It was obvious that the going was not to her liking on that occasion. Her dam is a half-sister to Te Akau trained triple Group One winner Gingernuts, and she seems suited stepping up in distance here. The blinkers are on, and she is ideally drawn (4) to have first four claims. Fixed odds: $6.00 & $2.30.
