Te Akau Te Aroha Preview
25 November, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the ten race programme on Wednesday 25 November at Te Aroha.
As on race morning the conditions were: overcast and Good3, rail true.
2.15 p.m. R4 2 Scandinavian (4 g Dylan Thomas - Blanche Amelia) - Cameron Lammas; resumes off 147 days in the Maiden 1400 metres, having had two fitness trials. Best when allowed to find his feet, he should be able to secure a good spot from around barrier four - after the ballots come out. A staying horse on type and pedigree, running home strongly into the first five would be encouraging.
3.25 p.m. R6 9 Smashing (4 m Pins - Ruud Van Slaats) - Cameron Lammas; trialled very well at Cambridge, in the second of her prep trials, and ended her previous campaign when setting a track record for 1400 metres (1:21.5) on this course. She also holds the 1200-metre for record (1:09.3) at Rotorua. Given her quality, and speed, she appears a very good chance in the Rating 75 1000 metres.
5.44 p.m. R10 4 Babilloni (5 g Cecconi - Babillard) - Cameron Lammas; held a midfield position to finish sixth in the Rating 65 1400 metres at Waipa, and steps up to a mile. Continuing to improve, he should receive a favourable trip from barrier two.
