Te Akau Te Aroha Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has four horses entered for the ten race programme on Sunday 19 June at Te Aroha.
As on Saturday 18 June the conditions were: cloudy and Heavy10, rail out 4 metres. No rain forecast.

11.23 a.m. R2 5 Maestro (5 g Encosta De Lago - Miss Scarlatti) - Daniel Miller; makes his jumps debut in the $10,000 Maiden Hurdles 3100 metres. He has finished third in both his hurdle trials, schooled well for this rider and brings good fitness levels.

2.51 p.m. R8 7 Grandeur (3 g O'Reilly - Grand Echezeaux) - Matt Cameron; produced a game performance for sixth in very testing conditions on debut in the Maiden 1400 metres at Matamata, and should come on for it. The defection of favourite Make Me Achiever (Makfi) evens up the contest and he rates an each way chance from barrier eight in the corresponding event.

2.51 p.m. R8 17 Herschal (3 g Savabeel - Starring) - rider to be advised; requires additional scratching to make the field in both race 8 & 9. He peaked on his run in the Maiden 1200 metres at Matamata, after being freshened, but made good inroads from last at his only course attempt and his dam won on heavy going.

3.26 p.m. R9 2 Esprit De Corps (3 g Bel Esprit - Vercors) - Matt Cameron; just missed following a duel in the Maiden 1400 metres on Slow8 at Hawera, after finishing fifth in the Maiden 1600 metres on Slow7 at Otaki. He brings good form to the Maiden 1400 metres and appreciation of the heavy going would make him competitive.
