Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Sunday 8 December at Te Aroha.

2:49 p.m. R4 6 Hakkinen (3 g Savabeel – Miss Scandinavia) – Vinnie Colgan; he was between runners in midfield 600m and ran home well for fourth over a sprint distance in a trial on 18 November at Waipa. Debuting in the $18,500 Maiden 1400 metres, his Te Akau trained dam won twice to 1600 metres, and he ideally drawn (1) to produce a solid first-up effort to the races. Fixed odds: $11.00 & $3.20. 

4:32 p.m. R7 7 Akenehi (4 m Fastnet Rock – Igraine) – Vinnie Colgan; she was unable to quicken following an economical trip in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 23 November at Wanganui, and contests the $18,500 Rating 65 1600 metres. She finished fourth or better in five starts before winning over 1400 metres last season, the visor blinkers are on, and strategically drawn (2) to show improvement. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $2.05.
