Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Sunday 31 August at Te Aroha.

12:00 p.m. R1 6 Malborough Bay (6 g Darci Brahma – Spin ‘N Grin) – Jay Kozaczek; he recorded his second win from last three starts in the Rating 75 1400 metres on 9 August at Te Rapa, and makes his jumps' debut in the $20,000 Maiden Hurdle (3100m). He has finished first, second and third in three hurdle trials, most recently here on 22 August with Kozaczek also aboard - in terrific form, he certainly looks a top three chance. Fixed odds: $3.00 & $1.35.
3:00 p.m. R6 1 Accidental Tourist (5 g Telperion – Megara) – Jack Taplin (a4); he co-led on the inner and kept giving to finish third in his trial on 17 August at Taupo. Resuming in the $40,000 Rating 75 1150 metres, he has a good race record, having notched up four wins to 1600 metres, three of those coming on heavy tracks. He placed here on debut as a two-year-old, enjoys weight relief to 57.5kg, and possesses the ability to perform well in a fresh state. Fixed odds: $27.00 & $6.00.
