Te Akau Te Aroha Trials' Report

Te Akau trialled horses on Tuesday October 28 at Te Aroha.  

The footing was rated Dead6, with the rail out eight metres.

Heat 3 2YO 800 metres (¾ lengths, 1 ¼ lengths 47.1)
Red Poppy (2 f Iffraaj - Newgrange) - Matt Cameron; jumped away nicely before becoming outpaced over the sprint trip and ran home maintaining her position.

Heat 11 Open 1000 metres (head, 1 ¾ lengths 59.1)
The Musician (4 g Minstrel Court - Carrots) - Cameron Lammas; crossed from a wide gate to sit outside the leader and put under no pressure to find the line.|

Heat 12 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres (1 ¼ lengths, ½ a length 59.7)
Sonsy (3 f Thorn Park - Flowing) - Matt Cameron; settled one off the rail in midfield and ran home nicely for second. She made ground in a heat run in good time.

Heat 17 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres (2 ¼ lengths, 1 ½ lengths 1.00.2)
Opulent (3 f Keeper - Silk Slipper) - Matt Cameron; was allowed to find her feet, settling back, and angled into the clear on straightening she worked home solidly for fourth.

Heat 21 Open 1200 metres (2 ¼ lengths, 1 ½ lengths 1:11.93)
Quintette (4 m Alamosa - Everswindell) - Matt Cameron; jumped away well to position one off the rail in fourth and held her position.

Heat 22 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres (¾ lengths, 2 ¼ lengths 1:13.0)
Realize (3 g Redoute's Choice - Rationalize) - Matt Cameron; crossed into midfield from the outside gate and fought on after being wide around the home turn.
