Te Akau Te Aroha Tuesday Preview
9 November, 2021
Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Tuesday 9 November at Te Aroha.
Weather: fine, track: Dead5, rail: out 7 metres.
2.00 p.m. R5 6 Polaris (3 g Deep Field - Miss Fi) - Ryan Elliot; produced a notable effort for a close fourth on debut in Maiden 3YO 1000 metres on 6 October at Taupo, and recorded the same again when running home solidly for third in the Maiden 1200 metres on 23 October at Matamata. He is ideally drawn (3) to rate a top three chance in the $12,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $4.20 & $1.50.
2.32 p.m. R6 11 Kai (3 f Ocean Park - Brilliant Blush) - Danielle Johnson; converted good trial form with a big effort for second (fastest 600m on day: 36.3) when debuting in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 20 October at Tauranga. She presents as a top three prospect in the other $12,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $2.30 & $1.25.
3.03 p.m. R7 2 Seajetz (4 g Iffraaj - Bellazeel) - Danielle Johnson; made it three from three on course, all with Johnson aboard, when winning the Rating 74 1500 metres on 3 October at Te Aroha, and since finished fifth in a Rating 74 1600 metres on 23 October at Matamata. Drawn wide (11) in $12,000 Rating 74 1400 metres, he meets a couple with talent, but his course form warrants respect. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.40.
4.42 p.m. R10 18 Pin Me Up (3 f Pins - Brampton Loco) - Danielle Johnson; charged clear for an impressive win when trialling on 14 October at Taupo, and debuts in $12,000 Maiden 1200 metres. From a well performed, lightly raced mare that won over 1600 metres, the half-sister to Group 2 winner Pimms Time (Pins). She is destined to get up in trip, but looks a top three chance if she emulates her recent trial. Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.70.
