1:58 p.m. R3 2 Balance Of Power (5 g Almanzor – Respin) – Craig Grylls; he travelled handily and finished midfield in the Rating 75 1600 metres on 18 October at Ellerslie. Contesting the $18,500 Rating 75 2200 metres, he ended his previous campaign winning three of five starts to 2000 metres, including his sole start on this course. He is also ideally drawn (2) to prove competitive stepping up in distance. Fixed odds: $4.20 & $1.70.

2:30 p.m. R4 17 Sibling Rivalry (3 f Satono Aladdin – Justlikeyasister) – Craig Grylls; she travelled handily and unwound with a strong effort to finish fourth when debuting in the Maiden 1000 metres on 10 October at Taupo. She looked good winning two trials prior, and she appears a genuine top three chance from barrier six in the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1150 metres. Fixed odds: $8.00 & $2.70.
