Te Akau Te Rapa Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Saturday 16 July at Te Rapa.

As on Friday 15 July the conditions were: fine and Slow7, rail out 12 metres. Fine forecast race day.

3.28 p.m. R7 7 Opulent (4 m Keeper - Silk Slipper) - Matt Cameron; applied acid from the 500m in a much improved performance for third here in the $22,500 Rating 75 1600 metres on Slow8 and contests the corresponding event. The field appears stronger than last time, but she has trained on and shapes as an each way chance again.

4.06 p.m. R8 10 Tavis Star (4 m Tavistock - Megapins) - Sam Weatherley (a3); produced a very good effort for fourth, despite losing both front shoes, in the $20,000 Rating 65 1400 metres here on Slow8 and contests the corresponding event. With weight relief to 55.5kgs, a wide draw may not be disadvantageous by the last race and a glance at her form line shows how genuine she is.
