Te Akau Te Rapa Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 6 October at Te Rapa.

As on Thursday 5 October the conditions were: overcast and Slow8, rail true. 1ml rain forecast Thursday.

3.43 p.m. R7 2 Vinevale (5 m Flying Spur - Eden Valley) - Opie Bosson; closed the margin for fourth when trialling over 1000 metres on 26 September at Te Teko, with Bosson aboard, and resumes in the $25,000 Rating 75 1200 metres. She ended her previous campaign coming out of the pack for second in the Rating 75 1300 metres on Hawkes Bay Cup Day in April at Hastings. A talented mare, she has impressed winning from 1200m to 1500m, recorded two of her three wins fresh-up, won and placed in three course attempts and can produce a bold performance despite carrying quite a bit of weight (58.5kgs).

4.18 p.m. R8 17 Pure Savalina (4 m Savabeel - Catalina) - Michael McNab; finished back in the field when resuming on 2 September in the Rating 65 1400 metres at Ruakaka, and contests the $22,500 Rating 65 1400 metres. She was a Maiden winner over 1600 metres on Dead4 ground in January at Matamata, is somewhat dictated by the draw (13) to race back in the field and finding the line before stepping up in distance would be encouraging.
