Te Akau Te Rapa Preview
27 October, 2014
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the ten-race programme on Monday October 27 at Te Rapa.
As on Sunday Oct. 26 the conditions were: fine and Good3, rail true.
4.49 p.m. R9 14 Vive La Difference (3 f Choisir - L'Artiste) - Matt Cameron; drew a wide gate and made good ground from a long way back on October 4 in the Special Conditions 1400 metres at Hastings, to subsequent winner Aeternum (Deputy Governor). Fresh up here at her previous start on Sept. 10, she travelled easily, off the pace, before storming home for an impressive win in a Maiden 1200 metres. Drawn barrier seven in the Rating 65 1600 metres, the step up distance appears timely and the form around her is very good.
5.24 p.m. R10 13 Osmunda (4 m O'Reilly - Wyndam Special) - Matt Cameron; was held up for a run entering the straight and found the line for seventh on rain-affected footing in the Rating 75 1600 metres here on Oct. 3, and contests the corresponding race. She meets three rivals from the previous event, including winner Farm Boy (El Hermano). Hopefully an inside gate (2) remains advantageous until the end of the meeting, whereas she was inconvenienced by rain on the day from the same alley last time.
