Te Akau Te Rapa Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the nine race card at Te Rapa on Saturday 17 January.

She has drawn midfield in this seven-horse race and has displayed good gate speed in her two trials, enabling her to put herself in the race. Both efforts also saw her strong through the line in quick times, suggesting she will run out the 1200m without issue. Senior hoop Mark Hills takes the reins with stable rider Matthew Cameron riding at Trentham. She has the ability to factor in the first three with some luck in the running among green horses.

4:46pm R8 1 La Adelita (4m High Chaparral - Romantic Liaisons) - Anna Jones (a2); a last start winner over 1560m at Rotorua on 27 December, she steps up in class to this Rating 75 event over 1600m with a feather weight of 52kg having apprentice Anna Jones taking the reins. Her work has been first rate and she gets the aid of the ace barrier. With a strong tempo up front, she will be able to display her turn of foot to factor in the finish in this strong field.
