Te Akau Te Rapa Sunday Preview
19 January, 2020
Te Akau New Zealand has six horses racing on Sunday 19 January at Te Rapa.
Weather: fine, track: Dead4, rail: out 8 metres. No rain forecast.
12.55 p.m. R1 1 Fabulous Flight (5 g I Am Invincible - Court Flying) - Opie Bosson; found the line strongly when trialling on 6 January at Cambridge, and resumes in the $11,000 Rating 72 1400 metres. A winner three times to 1600 metres, he finished second on the course over 2200 metres and should go well before stepping up.
1.30 p.m. R2 9 Enduring Love (4 m Camelot - Holy Moly) - Opie Bosson; continued solid form when finishing third in the Maiden 1200 metres on 3 January at Te Aroha, and contests the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Fourth at her only course attempt, she is ideally drawn (3) to race well in the race sponsored by Te Akau 3 Times Karaka Million Winner.
1.30 p.m. R2 10 Miss Hepburn (4 m Reliable Man - Love the Limelight) - Ryoya Kozaki; was rearward throughout when resuming in the Maiden 1200 metres on 27 December at New Plymouth, and gets a chance to improve in the $10,000 Te Akau 3 Times Karaka Million Winner Maiden 1400 metres.
2.05 p.m. R3 6 Willpower (4 g Power - The Lady) - Opie Bosson; followed a good trial with a fresh-up win in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 30 December at Taupo, with Bosson aboard, and contests the $11,000 Rating 72 1200 metres. Perfectly drawn (1), he can make his presence felt immediately in the next grade and rates a top three chance.
4.25 p.m. R7 8 Laureate (3 g Snitzel - Floria) - Opie Bosson; was gelded after debuting in October and sustained a good run into third when trialling on 16 December at Te Aroha, before doing things wrong fresh-up in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 1 January at Hastings. He receives a chance to improve in the corresponding event with a senior rider aboard.
4.25 p.m. R7 15 Crystal Bellini (3 f Ghibellines - Megagem) - Rosie Myers; quickened into second and held together over the concluding stages when trialling on 3 December at Te Aroha, she was good through the line on debut in the Maiden 1200 metres on 29 December at New Plymouth. A handy draw (4) should assist her chances in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres.
