Te Akau Te Teko Preview
13 June, 2017
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Wednesday 14 June at Te Teko.
As on Tuesday 13 June the conditions were: fine and Heavy10, rail out 10 metres. 1ml rain forecast overnight.
1.13 p.m. R3 2 Grandeur (4 g O'Reilly - Grand Echezeaux) - Cameron Lammas; resumes off a lengthy spell, with blinkers on, from barrier three in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. In the more recent of two preparatory trials, 23 May at Taupo, he finished strongly for third over 1050 metres on Dead6 footing. He has matured into a nice big horse, genuine in approach, and the key to his performance centres around handling the going.
2.57 p.m. R6 14 Lady Pinot (4 m Starspangledbanner - Madame Echezeaux) - Cameron Lammas; has been given 32 days since finishing fifth on Heavy10 in the Rating 65 1200 metres at New Plymouth, and contests the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres from barrier seven. She resumed with a close fourth over 1000 metres in April at Trentham, and reverts to midweek racing after contesting two Saturday events. Trialling well here on Slow9 before finishing second on debut, there are enough surrounding factors to suggest a decent showing.
