Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 5 October -

 

Course Proper:

Madam Monica (Burdan) and Griffin (Bosson) worked at three quarter pace over metres in 1.10, last 600 in 40. Both horses worked along nicely. Madam Monica is ready for the Maiden 1400 metres at Waipa on Sunday while Griffin is set to race in the Group Two Hawke's Bay Guineas on Saturday.

Gingernuts (Bosson) led Chance to Dance (Pinn) at three quarter pace over 1200 metres in 1.29, last 600 in 43. Both horses continue to work well and are set to race in the Group One Livamol Classic at Hastings on Saturday.

 

All Weather:
Savvy Lady
(M Grylls) worked at three quarter pace over 800 metres, leading 3f Burgundy - Aventura (Burdan) and Accumulation / 3g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicilia (Tan). They all ran similar times of 800 in 57, the last 600 in 41.

Tatters (M Grylls) lead Lady Painton (Tan) over 800 metres at three quarter pace in 59, last 600 in 43.

 

No2. Sand:

Melody Belle (K Jones) worked solo at three quarter pace over 800 metres in 1 minute, last 600 in 45.

Wandering Eye (Tan) worked at three quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1.12, home in 45.

Te Akau Shark (Burdan) worked at three quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1.15, last 600 in 44. He led Wide Awake (Tan) who worked similar times.

Lucy Wyldstyle (Bakar) and More Than Fast (Pinn) galloped together over an easy 1000 metres in 1.07, home in 37.8.

The Chaser (Alam) worked solo at three quarter pace over 800 metres in 1.01, last 600 in 43 while Scarlet Princess (Bakar) worked on her own at three quarter pace over 800 metres in 1 minute, last 600 in 45.

Bak Da Master (Pinn) travelled at three quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1.11, working the last 600 in 42.

 

Taupo Gallops:

Chambord (Bosson) and Fashionably (Tan) worked side by side over 1000 metres in 1.04, last 600 in 36.5.

Zambezi Warrior (Pinn) and Our Abbadean (Lammas) galloped over 1200 metres in 1.16.4, last 600 in 36.5.

Devil May Care (Bosson) worked well along side Elegant D'Oro (Lammas), galloping 1000 metres in 1.03.6, last 600 in 37.2.

Jet Set (Bosson) and Gris Dame (Tan) galloped together over 1000 metres in 1.04.7, last 600 in 36.7.

Icebomb (Lammas) and Don'tblamethemusic (Pinn) galloped over 1000 metres in 1.06.7, home in 37.5.

Heroic Valour (Bosson) and Nucleonic (Lammas) looked good galloping together over 1000 metres in 1.04.3, home in 36 flat.  Heroic Valour is the main picture with Wiremu Pinn.

Splurge (Bosson) looked super working by himself over 1000 metres in 1.05, home in 36.8.

Conditions were excellent for fast work at Riccarton Park for this morning's session with the big trial again being open with the markers wide against the plough rail. The going was a Good3 and times were generally fast. The plough was watered early and was also open for fast work and times were moderate.

Best gallop of the morning came from an unraced, unnamed three-year-old gelding by Highly Recommended (Shaikh) who galloped on the grass with Pilau Penang (Gundowry) over 1000m in 1.01.6, recording 35.7 hard held for the last 600m, three lengths in advance of his companion.

Zakynthos (Moore) and Savvy Coup (Morgan) were paired together on the grass over 1000m in 1.03.1, the final 600m in 34.8. Savvy Coup is an acceptor for the Inglewood Stud Guineas Trial at Riccarton Park on Saturday. Son of Maher (Moore) and Mr Typhon (Shaikh) showed their fitness when they galloped together from the 600m in 34.8

Carnival (Callaway) and Firestarter (Robertson) from the Hughes stable impressed when they were sprinter from the 600m in 35.2 on the grass. Last start winner Carnival is an acceptor in Saturday's R75 1200m. Pinup Coup (Wynne) and Pippiana (Hong) also impressed when they galloped together from the 1000m in 1.04.9, the final 600m in 35.3.

Nowhere Man (Gundowry) and stablemate Why Me (Shaikh) were two more to Saturday acceptors to run time when they went together from the 1000m in 1.02.5, the final 600m in 35.7. Mr Conductor (Crozier) also completed some good work when timed from the 1000m in 1.05.1 with the final 600m in 36.5. Citrus (Bennet) did similar work alone on the grass over 1000m in 1.05.9, the last 600m in 36.9.

Czechoslovakia (Morgan) and the unraced Aquazurra (Wynne) were timed from the 600m together in 48.3, the last 600m in 35.5. Kinagat (Wynne) went over 600m alone in 35.9. Cinnamon Kiss (Champion) and Gracious Luck (Murphy) galloped together on the grass from the 800m in 51.7, the last 600m in 37.3. Goodtago (Scarlet) was clocked from the 800m in 52.5.

Imperium (Miller) and Avantage (Newman) were given an easy task in covering 800m together on the grass in 57.5. On Debut (Morris) and Jumeriah (Bebey) were two not extended when covering 600m in 40.3. Montoya Star (Wynne) and Gloss (Moore) went 800m together in 52.5. Dynamic(Hong) went an easy 800m in 57.2. O'Kiwi (Gundowry) was also alone but more urgent in galloping over 600m in 36.0. Name Of The Stars (Callaway) went over 800m alone in 50.9.

On the plough two of the best of the morning came from Vantaa (Yatim) and Queen Jetsun (Williams) who went together from the 800m in 49.3, the last 600m in 36.6. Shocktillyoudrop (Carston) and Nakura (Cameron) also impressed when timed from the 800m in 52.2, the final 600m in 37.1.

Sebring's Delight (Thistoll) and Suggestion (Rae) galloped together from the 600m 37.9, the final 400m in 24.5. Sebring's Delight is an acceptor on Saturday. Troy Boy and an unraced three-year-old by Zed from the Hughes stable also went together on the plough from the 600m in 37.9. Hover (Murphy) was timed on the plough over 800m in 51.7.

Early in the session on the plough Batman was breezed-up 400m in the semi dark but was not timed. Radiant, Damanka and Pat In Brackets were other who galloped before the markers were drawing enough light. Age Of Fire (Miller) and Tiffany's Time (Newman) three-quarter paced to the 1000m from where they were timed to run 1.13.8 in readiness for Riccarton where both are acceptors. Margarita Mover (Rae) and Shoot To Kill (Thistoll) are also acceptors and they were timed on the plough only from the final 600m in 39.3.

Frazzle (Moseley) and Lookherepal (Carston) went together from the 800m on the plough in 51.7, the last 600m in 38.2. Stablemates Red River Rock (Carston) and Celtic Cross (Cameron) also went over 800m together in 51.8, the final 600m in 37.2. In Tuesday's trackwork the galloper reported to be Montrachet was in fact Justice Well.

Lady Amadeus (Miller) and Heart Of Courage (Newman) both looked in good order when three-quarter paced from the 1000m on the plough. They were not timed.  Spritz (Kwo) and Savvanah Gem (Yatim) galloped together on the plough over 800m in 50.9, the final 600m in 37.2. The Real Deal (Crozier) went alone from the1600m, the final 1200m taking 1.31.1. Maui Miss went alone over 1000m in 1.07.8, the last 600m in 39.7.

What A Deezer (Moseley) on the plough galloped alone over 1000m in 1.10.1, finishing the work strongly in 37.0. Locally Sauced (Coster) was also solo over 800m in 54.5, the last 600m in 40.2. Lily Grecia (Speedie) was three-quarter paced only. First Of A Kind (Callaway) galloped 1000m in 1.07.0, the last 600m in 39.0. Grazia (Miller) which has been working very well was given an easy task over 800m in 1.00.5.

Maybe Miami (Callaway) galloped on the plough over 800m in 51.1. Los Cabos (Speedie) went alone over 1000m in 1.09.5, the last 600m 38.4. Others on the plough included Capone In Charge (Speedie) over 1000m in 1.15.3, the last 600m in 43.6 and Don't Get Caught (Moseley) over 800m in 53.3.

Son Of Zac (Robertson) again worked well on the grass in preparation for Saturday when he was timed from the 800m in 48.2, the last 600m in 35.5. He's an improver. Night Nurse ( Moore) was timed on the grass from the 1200m in 1.22.2, finishing strongly over the last 600m in 36.6. Elfee (Wynne) was timed from the 1000m in 1.09.9, the last 600m in 37.1. Bon Showvi (Stewart) caught the eye when breezed-up over 400m in 23.5. Sweet Time (Shaikh) was timed to run her 1200m in 1.21.5, the last 600m in 38.7.

Late in the session on the grass Qaintrelle (Shaikh) and Saronic Miss (Morgan) impressed over 1000m in 1.03.7, the last 600m in 35.9. Enzo's Lad (Wynne) went 1000m in 1.07.5, the last 600m in 37.0. Flying Ibis (Hong) went from the 1000m alone in 1.10.7, the last 600m in 37.1. No Emotion finished the session as usual when covering 1200m in 1.17.4, the final 600m in 36.9.
