Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 5 July -
Sand track:
In preparation for the Rating 65 2100 metres on Saturday at Te Rapa, Bojangles (P. Richards) worked at three-quarter pace over 1200m, coming home in 44 for the last 600m.
King Kane (D. Miller) continued his good work when running 800m in 57 and last 600m in 41.
The Real Beel (S. Rusof) was keen in her work over 800m in 54, last 600m in 39. It was a pleasing gallop.
Bak Da Master (T. Newman) and Gris Dame (D. Tan) pleased in their work together over 800m.
Beau Geste (T. Newman) was tracked along by Dontblamethemusic (B. Grylls) over 800m in 53.5 and last 600m in 42.
Jet Set (N. Bakar) went an easy 800m, working home nicely for the last 600m in 39.
Gallops at Te Rapa:
Age of Fire (S. Rusof) and Summer Monsoon (D. Tan) were tracked at an interval by Te Akau Shark (P. Richards). All three worked well over 800m, with the pair in front running the final 600m in 36.6.
Melody Belle (S. Rusof) and Queen Of The Air (N. Bakar) covered 800m, the last 600m in 36.3, travelling kindly.
Spirit Of Galway (N. Bakar) and Swing Note (S. Rusof) also ran 800m, the last 600m in 36.0.
The track, Slow8, was reported by the riders to be very nice going.
Co-trainer Stephen Autridge was happy with the work by all horses, in particular reigning Champion Two-Year-Old Melody Belle. “We were rapt with her gallop and how she is coming up,†he said. “Swing Note looks further improved this time in, and Age Of Fire looks in great shape. It was good work by all the horses, really.â€
