Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 27 December -

 

Course Proper:

Ready to race at Matamata on Saturday, Burgundy Belle (S Rusof) worked over 1000 metres in 1.13, last 800 in 58, home in 42.

Group 1 Sistema Railway (Open SW&P, 1200m) contestant Melody Belle (S Rusof) and a companion looked good galloping over 1000 metres in 1.02, last 600 in 35.1. They were followed by Aotea Lad (D Miller) who worked strongly over 1000 metres and is on track to race in the Group 3 Barneswood Farm Eclipse Stakes (2YO SW, 1200m) at Ellerslie on New Year's Day.

Targeting the Group 2 Valachi Downs Royal Stakes (3YOF SW, 2000m) at Ellerslie on New Year's Day, Luminous (S Rusof) and companion worked nicely over 1200 metres, galloping 1000 metres in 1.19, final 600 in 38.1.

Duck Road (D Miller) and Qiji Crystal (S Rusof) paired up to gallop over 1000 metres in 1.10.1, last 600 in 38.9. Duck Road has race options early in the New Year while Qiji Crystal is pencilled in to race at Hastings on New Year's Day.

 

No.2 Sand:

Racing at Matamata on Saturday, Gris Dame (J Nason) worked at three quarter pace over 1200 metres in 1.29.2, last 600 in 42.6.

Preparing to race at Te Aroha on 3 January, Beaumarchais (N Bakar) galloped over 1200 metres, running the last 800 metres in 53, home in 38.6. Mazzuro (D Miller) also worked over 1200 metres, running very similar times.

She's Not Bad (J Kamaruddin) galloped over an easy 1000 metres in 1.12, home in 41.

Readying to resume at Taupo on Sunday, Spirit Of Galway (J Kamaruddin) galloped over 800 metres in 56.7, last 600 in 41.

You're Welcome (D Miller) worked at three quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1.15, last 600 in 45. You're Welcome readies to make his debut in the Maiden 1200 metres at Matamata on Saturday.

Byzantine (J Nason) and Top Brass (C Leveque) worked at three quarter pace over 800 metres in 1.02.3, last 600 in 44.2. Witchery (C Leveque) also worked at three quarter pace over 800 metres, running similar times.

On track to race at Hastings on New Year's Day, Motivation (D Miller) worked over 1200 metres, galloping the last 1000 in 1.08, home in 39.
