Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday December 4 -
Plough:
Smashing (Samuelsson) worked solo over 800 metres in 52.9, last 600m in 38.9. Two starts ago Smashing (Pins) set a track record (1:09.3) for 1200 metres at Rotorua, and contests the 3YO 1300 metres on Saturday at Ellerslie.
Heading south for the Rating 85 1400 metres on Saturday at Trentham, Show No Emotion (Hercock) worked over 1200m at three-quarter pace. A winner first up in this campaign and second in both starts since, Show No Emotion (Pins) has built a solid record of three wins, two seconds and a third from ten starts and should be suited by the course at Trentham.
Flirty Gertey (Roff) worked over 1200m in 1:25.8, last 600m in 39.9. Flirty Gertey got clear for an easy fresh up win on Nov. 12 over 1400 metres at Matamata, and now gearing up to race on Friday (Tauranga) or Saturday (Awapuni) next week.
Three-quarter pace on the plough:
Imperium (Miller) 1200m, Vive La Difference (Richards) 800m, Opulent (Zainal) 1000m, La Adelita (Miller) 1000m. An impressive winner in her first campaign comprising four races, Vive La Difference (Choisir) pleased her rider.
“She has come back beautifully from a short reprieve at Te Akau Stud, and felt outstanding in her work,†said Richards. A quality filly, Vive La Difference will embark on path that could lead towards the $300k Wellfield New Zealand Oaks (Gr. 1, 2400m) on March 14 at Trentham.
