Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 16 April -

Course proper (Slow):

Preparing for the Championship Stakes (Listed, 2100m) on Saturday at Ellerslie, Vive La Difference (Lammas) worked over 1600m at three-quarter pace. She ran the last 1200m in 1:30.5 and 600m in 44.9.

Bordeaux (Hercock) worked solo over 800m in 56.5, last 600m in 41.2. Bordeaux (High Chaparral) has been gelded and resumes in the Maiden 1400 metres on Saturday at Hastings.

Both ridden by Kate Hercock, Rapid Gain (Flying Spur) and Sunset Pass (Yamanin Vital) each schooled over eight flights of hurdles in work that saw them go two rounds.

Three-quarter pace on the sand track:

Astrid (Hercock) went solo over 800m, 3 f Mastercraftsman - Due Diligence (Lammas) 1000m, and Star of Greenbeel (Lammas) 800m.

Jump outs:

Arpeggio (Lammas), Echezeaux (Hercock) and Opulent (Zac-Syed) jumped out of the race day gates on the perimeter of the course proper and worked up over 800m.

Butch Cassidy (Lammas) jumped out over 800m with a couple from other stables.

Scandinavian (Zac-Syed), Sequitur (Schistl) and Tiara (Hercock) jumped out over 1200m.

Linchpin (Hercock) and 2 g No Excuse Needed - Reputedly (Schistl) went 600m.

Lady Pinot (Lammas) and Our Drahma Queen (Zac-Syed) jumped out over 600m.
