Te Akau track work highlights Thursday 28 May -
Course proper (Heavy):
Highly Likely (Lammas) worked over ground before clocking the 1200 metres in 1:26, last 600m in 42. Preparing for the Rating 75 2200 metres on Monday at Ellerslie, Highly Likely (High Chaparral) is likely to have another piece of work with a mate on Saturday.
Sand track:
Tavis Star (Hercock) worked up tremendously, ahead of the 3YO 1600 metres on Saturday at Ellerslie. Tavis Star (Tavistock) went 1200m in 1:28, last 600m in 42.6, and brings the right form to prove competitive.
Maestro (Miller) and Scandinavian (Hercock) worked together over 1200m. They ran the 1000m in 1:08.3, last 600m in 40. Both are being prepared for the local meeting next Wednesday, June 3, at Matamata: Maestro (Encosta De Lago) in the Rating 65 High-weight 1600 metres with Daniel Miller aboard, and Scandinavian (Dylan Thomas) in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres.
Bordeaux (Miller) worked over 1200m. He ran the 1000m in 1:09, last 600m in 41. Out of room when mounting a finish near the rail over 1400m at Ruakaka, Bordeaux (High Chaparral) is scheduled for the Maiden 1600 metres next Saturday, June 6, at Te Rapa.
Miss Chief (Roff) ran an easy 1000m in 1:10.8, last 600m in 41.1. It was nice work and the rider was happy.
