Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 15 October -

Sand track:

Scrutinize (K. Jones) and Xtravagant (Hercock) pleased the trainers in their work over an easy 1200 metres in 1:26, last 600m in 40. Leading up to the 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) on 7 November at Riccarton, Xtravagant (Pentire) is pencilled in for the 3YO 1400 metres on 24 October at Trentham. Scrutinize (Savabeel) the Sarten Memorial (Gr. 3, 1400m) on 26 October at Te Rapa.

Resuming in the Rating 65 1200 metres on Saturday at Rotorua, Hysteria Lane (Hercock) ran an easy 1200m. She enjoyed her work, clocking 1:10 for the 1000m and last 600m in 41.

Carmenize (Zac-Syed) and Echezeaux (Hercock) galloped an easy 1200m in 1:21, quickening the last 600m in 37.

Thetruthisouthere (Hercock) went an easy 1000m in 1:12, last 600m in 42. Astrid (Zac-Syed) did similar work over 1000m in 1:09, last 600m in 39. Grazia (Coleman) ran 1000m in 1:12, last 600m in 42. Just Call Me Riley (Zac-Syed) ran 1000m in 1:05, last 600m in 38.

Bounteous (Hercock) and Vinevale (Fawcett) ran an easy 800m in 51, last 600m in 37. Fas (Price) and 3 f High Chaparral - Star Affair (K. Jones) ran 800m in 56, last 600m in 40. Point Percy (Hercock) and 3 g Savabeel - Starring (K. Jones) ran 800m in 52, last 600m in 37.

Sand track, three-quarter pace:

Wolfwhistle (Hanafi) 1200m, last 1000 in 1:10, striding along beautifully. Sir Darci (Hercock) went 1000m in 1:11, last 600m in 41.

All-weather track:

Imperium (Price) pleased in his work over a mile at three-quarter pace, last 1200m in 1:25.

Riccarton

Preparing for the John Grigg Stakes (Listed, 1400m) on Saturday at Ashburton, last start Canterbury Belle Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Windborne (Prastiyou) pace worked solo on the plough and bowled up a bit over the final 800m.

Race rival and third placed in the Canterbury Belle, Princess Davone (Walsh) pace worked on the sand track.

Also preparing for the Maiden 1600 metres at Ashburton, Bishop Rock (Ritchie) pace worked on the sand.

Plough, three-quarter pace:

Gearing up to race next Saturday at Riccarton, Vive La Difference (Walsh) worked over 1400m. She ran the 1000m in 1:07.2, last 600m in 39.6. Risque (Walsh) went 1200m with the 1000m in 1:08.3 and 600m in 40.2. Special Memories (Walsh) went 1200m. 1000m in 1:03, last 600m in 37.5.  Flaming (Walsh) ran 1000m in 1:08.4, last 600m in 40.3.
