Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 7 July -
Course Proper - reserve way:
Spritz (Fawcett) worked over 1200 metres in 1.29.4, last 400 in 29. She will return to Avondale next Friday 15 July for a Rating 65 1600 metre race.
Last start winner Cabaret (K. Jones) followed Lady Pinot (Leveque) over 1200 metres who ran 1.11.7, the last 400 in 26.2. Both horses head to Tauranga on Wednesday for the Rating 65 1200 metres.
No.2 Sand, three quarter pace:
All three horses entered for Ruakaka on Saturday worked individually this morning, Tatters (Leveque) covered 1200 metres in 1.30, last 600 in 44. Its Our Showtime (K. Jones) worked well over 1000 metres in 1.15, the final 600 in 45. Herschal (K. Jones), who is third on the ballot in the Maiden 1600 metres, worked over ground his last 1200 metres in 1.27, 600 in 41.
Latin Rose (Leveque) prepared Avondale next Friday, working over 1000 metres in 1.15, her final 600 in 45.1.
Jumpouts - 400 metres - back straight:
A group of 12 young horses had a jump out from the race days barriers and a run down the back straight> The four groups consisted of Piper (Fawcett), 1f Rock ‘N' Pop - Doyenne (Hillis), 1f Fastnet Rock - Tavarnelle (Leveque), 1f Burgundy - Aventura (K. Price - below), 1f Burgundy - Paraiba (Fawcett), 1f Burgundy - Sciolone (Hillis), 1f Burgundy - A La Votre (K. Price), Unfazed (Noorman), Seirios (Noorman), Pacific Coast (Hillis), Cousteau (Pinn), 1f Burgundy - Breezed (Fawcett), O'Reilly Star (Fawcett), Wandering Eye (Hillis), Remington (Noorman) and Silver Missile (K. Price).
