Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 14 July -
No.2 Sand - slushy and raining:
Pins' mare Astrid (Leveque) prepared for next Saturday, by working over 1000 metres in 1.15, last 600 in 44.1.
Zambezi Warrior (Noorman) and Bishop Rock (Pinn) covered 800 metres in 58, final 600 in 43. Love Triangle (Fawcett) worked in company with Corporate Missile (K. Jones) over 800 metres in 1.01, 600 in 44.5. All four are on track to trial at Te Teko on 2 August.
Niamh Elizabeth (K. Jones) prepared for Matamata next Wednesday, by working well over 1000 metres in 1.11, last 600 in 41. She seems to have improved further since her maiden victory on the course last week.
Two horses being aimed at the three-year-old feature races next season worked over 800 metres Champion 2YO of the Year finalist Heroic Valour (Shailer) was first, running his last 600 in 46 and Hall Of Fame (Noorman) covered the distance in 1.02, last 600 in 46.
Champion 3YO of the Year nominee Xtravagant (K. Jones) ran 800 metres in 1.03, last 600 in 46.
Fastnet Rock gelding Ocean Rock (Pinn) worked solo over 800 metres in 58, final 600 in 44. Wide Awake (Shailer) also on his own, worked in heavy rain over 800 metres in 1.04.
Sassy ‘N' Smart (K. Jones) and O'Reilly Star (Leveque) both worked well over 800 metres, running their last 600 metres in 43. Showcasing gelding King Kane (Noorman) looked well running 800 metres in 56, 600 in 42.
Our Abbadean (K. Jones) worked in company with Alamosa filly Tiffany's Time (Leveque) over 1000 metres in 1.03, last 600 in 46. Dame Margo Fonteyn (Lammas) and O'Know (K. Price) ran 800 in 1.01, final 600 in 45.
O'Reilly fillly O'Naturelle (Lammas) and Paradise Rock (Leveque) went 800 metres in 56. Lady Amadeus (K. Jones) and Red Poppy (Lammas) ran their 800 metres in 57, last 600 in 43.
2f Rip Van Winkle - Bak Da Princess (Fawcett) and 2f Redwood - Volks Princess (Hillis) looked good running 800 metres in 59, last 600 in 39.
