Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 8 September

Matamata - Course Proper:

O'Know (Lammas) worked with Love Triangle (Cameron) over 1000 metres in 1.17, last 600 in 41.5. Love Triangle (Encosta De Lago) heads a big team heading to Te Rapa on Wednesday 14 August where the 4YO mare will start in the Rating 65 1400m race.  O'Know (O'Reilly) will step out in the Maiden 1400m event.

No. 2 Sand:

Heroic Valour (McNab) ran 1000 metres in 1.17.2, last 600 in 45.6. The Fastnet Rock colt has drawn barrier seven for his fresh up start in the Listed Northland Breeders' Stakes on Saturday at Ruakaka.  Stable jockey Matthew Cameron regains the ride.

Sassy ‘N' Smart (Miller) covered 1000 metres in 1.16.2, last 600 in 45.5. The daughter of Smart Missile begins her 3YO campaign next Saturday 17 September in the Group 3 Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings.

Ocean Rock (Miller) and Wide Awake (Cameron) were tracked by King Kane (McNab) over 1000 metres in 1.09.8, last 600 in 39.9. The trio of geldings will make race day debuts next week - Wide Awake (Savabeel) and King Kane (Showcasing) will contest the Maiden 1200m event at Te Rapa on Wednesday, while Ocean Rock (Fastnet Rock) will take on the Maiden 1200m at Taupo on Friday.

Beaumarchais (McNab) worked on his own over 1000 metres in 1.15.8, last 600 in 43.5. The Savabeel gelding has produced two nice trials at Te Teko this campaign and is another stepping out at Te Rapa on Wednesday in the Maiden 1200m.

Zambezi Warrior (Pinn) covered 1000 metres in 1.17, last 600 in 46.5. The last start runner-up in the Listed Championship Stakes at the end of his last prep, will make his four-year-old debut at Pukekohe next Sunday 18 September  in the Rating 75 1400m event.

Dame Margo Fonteyn (Cameron) paired with Tiffany's Time (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1.09.4, last 600 in 41. The pair of fillies will also make race day debuts at Te Rapa. Dame Margo Fonteyn (High Chaparral) will be nominated for in the Maiden 1400m race and Tiffany's Time (Alamosa) will head to the F&M Maiden 1200m race at Te Rapa or to Taupo for the Maiden 1200m.

Paradise Rock (Leveque) ran 1000 metres in 1.12.7, last 600 in 41.9. The Fastnet Rock gelding is another heading to Te Rapa for a 1200m event.

Hall Of Fame (McNab) has come through his second placing at Hastings behind Ugu Foscolo in good order. The Savabeel gelding ran 1000 metres in 1.12.8, last 600 in 42.4.

Exhibition (Pinn) worked 800 metres in 59.8, last 600 in 44.6.

Herschal (Fawcett) and Pure Savalina (Leveque) worked together over 800 metres in 57, last 600 in 41.8 while Vinevale (Cameron) tracked by Princess Davone (R. Cole) over 800 metres, the pair ran their last 600 in 45.9.

Winehouse (Hillis) ran 800 metres in 58.2, last 600 in 42.9. Sylvia's Special (K. Price) did similar work.

Abidewithme (M. Grylls) looked good when working over 800 metres in 57.3, last 600 in 42.4

Lady Painton (Lammas) ran 1000 metres in 1.15.2, last 600 in 46 and Kuia (Leveque) went 800 metres in 1.01, last 600 in 45.6.

Primrose (Fawcett) paired with The Chaser (R. Cole) ran 800 metres in 59.7, last 600 in 44.6 as 3f Redoute's Choice - Scarlett Lady (Lammas) was partnered with Elegant D'Oro (Fawcett) over 800 metres in 59.1, last 600 in 43.3.

Fastnet Fire (Hillis) worked 800 metres, she ran her last 600 in 40.4 and Our Abbadean (K. Price) worked 1000 metres in 1.17, last 600 in 46.

Two-year-olds English Rose (Miller) and 2c Stratum - Princess Narine (McNab) ran 600 metres in 46. 2f Commands - Meleka Belle (Cameron) and Inspire Me (Lammas) ran the 600 in 45.

Riccarton - (no times available):

O'Naturelle (R Didham) had her first piece of three-quarter pace work since arriving in the South Island last Friday, the daughter of O'Reilly worked over 1000 metres.

Play For Time (Wynne) worked over 1000 metres. Following an encouraging second over 1200 metres on debut at Ashburton, Play For Time (Foxwedge) joins stablemate O'Naturelle in the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes at Riccarton next Saturday 17 September.

Imperium (Shailer) is enjoying his new environment and he worked over 1000 metres. Imperium (Encosta De Lago) will kick off his spring campaign next Saturday at Riccarton when he contests the Rating 75 1400 metre race.

Madame Jamai (Shailer) appeared in good order working over 800 metres. The winner of five races in the South Island, she will trial at Rangiora on Tuesday.

Flemington:

Xtravagant worked over 1000 metres on the dirt on Wednesday with race day rider Damien Oliver aboard. He ran the 1000 in 1.05.5, last 400 in 23.5. Both trainer and jockey were happy with his work leading into Saturday's Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality up the Flemington straight (1200m).
