Te Akau Thursday Update

Karyn and I have had a great week in Sydney and have really enjoyed attending the sales.

I never get tired of looking at good yearlings and today we bought a super colt by Exceed and Excel and we will be giving you further details as soon as we have received his photo.  He has an outstanding pedigree, a real stallion's pedigree.  Our vet Dr Doug Black is also here in Sydney and he was equally as impressed when he checked him over for us.  He will be hugely popular for sure!

Overall the yearling sale in Sydney has been successful thanks to three or four international buyers but it was noticeable to me that the local trainers were not as active as usual.

There was light rain for most of the day in Sydney today so it is starting to look like it could be a heavy track on Saturday for Randwick's big day.

After today our attention turns to the South Island Session of New Zealand Bloodstock's Sale in Christchurch.  The sale takes place on Sunday and Jamie Richards, who is currently in the south, will be out looking at all the yearlings tomorrow and Saturday with New Zealand Bloodstock's Danny Rolston.
