Te Akau Thursday Update

Well what a sale series, in a huge vote of confidence for the New Zealand breeding industry, the 2018 Karaka Sale can only be described as a huge success. The Te Akau team of Jamie Richards, Mark Walker and myself brought 28 of the best yearlings any stable could ever hope to get.

These colts and fillies have all travelled safely to Te Akau Stud and are now happy in nice green paddocks.

It is quite incredible the number of enquiries that we have had and in the past 48 hours and we will be replying to every person.

Although we were the leading buyers, that is not a competition that is our focus.  The real competition is who can get the best Group and winning horses from a particular sale and that is one we are all determined to win.

In the history of Te Akau Racing, never have our horses been racing so well and to quinella the million $1m Karaka Million 2YO event can only be described as a thrill of a life time - our owners certainly thought so!  To see Embellish also go within a whisper of us winning both $1 million races was also a massive result!
