Te Akau Timaru Friday Preview
11 October, 2019
Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Friday 11 October at Timaru.
Weather: overcast, track: Dead5, rail: true. 6mls rain forecast Thursday, 4mls Friday.
12.30 p.m. R2 4 Dublin Rose (4 m O'Reilly - Irish
Dream) - Danielle
Johnson; raced near the pace when resuming with a fourth in the Maiden
1250 metres on 31 August at Ashburton, and contests the $10,000 Maiden 1200
metres. In the money seven out of nine starts, she has trialled solidly on slow
ground and should race well again.
1.05 p.m. R3 8 Exaltation (3 f Not A Single Doubt -
Meleka Belle) - Danielle
Johnson; drew clear stylishly on Slow8 footing when winning a 1000-metre trial
on 9 September at Ashburton, and debuts from barrier one in the $10,000
Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. A sizeable filly by a Champion son of Redoute's Choice
(Danehill), she is a half-sister to Champion Two-Year-Old, reigning Horse of
the Year, and nine-time Group One winning stable-mate Melody Belle (Commands).
While destined for further, there is enough about her to go well first-up.
1.40 p.m. R4 8 Louis Luck (3 g Dissident - My Option) - Danielle Johnson; resumes in
the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. He won on debut and freshened after
contesting the Karaka
Million (Restricted Listed, 1200m), won by stable-mate Probabeel (Savabeel),
both owned by Cambridge Stud. Able to act fresh, he has ability and warrants
respect with the right trip from barrier 10.
5.04 p.m. R10 1 Fabulous Flight (5 g I Am Invincible - Court Flying) - Danielle Johnson; had few
favours when finishing close up in the Rating 72 2000 metres on 21
September at Riccarton, and contests the corresponding event. A consistent
performer, he appears capable of threatening despite carrying top weight
(59.5kgs).
