Te Akau Timaru Preview
20 May, 2016
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Friday 20 May at Timaru.
As on Thursday 19 May the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. Morning shower forecast.
1.32 p.m. R3 6 Flirty Gertey (4 m Thorn Park - Granma Gertey) - Matt Cameron; has been freshened since finishing resolutely for a close third in the Rating 85 1200 metres at Awapuni, after showing her quality when resuming with a super win in the Rating 75 1200 metres at Pukekohe. Given the form around her two starts this time in, and drawing barrier one, she looks hard to beat in the Rating 85 1200 metres.
2.44 p.m. R5 4 Hushed (5 g Don Eduardo - Danewhisper) - Matt Cameron; was claimed in the last few strides to finish second in the Rating 65 1950 metres at Blenheim, after winning his previous start, handsomely, two days earlier on the same course. He won his maiden at 2000m, has a very good record over ground, and rates a top four chance from barrier three in the Rating 75 2100 metres.
