Te Akau Timaru Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eleven race programme on Friday 20 July at Timaru.

As on Thursday 21 July the conditions were: fine and Slow8, rail out 3 metres 1600m - 1000m, remainder true. No rain forecast.

10.58 a.m. R1 6 Highly Likely (5 g High Chaparral - Starrinka) - Aaron Kuru; makes his jumping debut in the $10,000 Maiden Hurdles over 3000 metres. Although without a hurdling trial, he has schooled well and while improvement will come from the experience, he is an accomplished staying performer on the flat.

3.18 p.m. R9 6 I See Fire (3 f Encosta De Lago - Chasing Mammon) - Samantha Wynne; has been given time since finishing fourth in the Maiden 1600 metres on Slow8 at Oamaru and contests the corresponding race. With luck from a wide draw, she rates an each way chance in an even field.
