Te Akau track work - Plough (Good):

Spellbinder (Cameron) cut out 1400 metres in 1:30, 1000m in 1:04 and last 600m in 35.9. Third placed to stable-mate Costa Viva (Encosta De Lago) in the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) in November at Riccarton, Spellbinder (O'Reilly) resumed recently with a classy win over 1200 metres at Ellerslie.

One of three Te Akau horses, along with Flirty Gertey (Thorn Park) and Sir Darci (Darci Brahma), nominated to contest the Karaka 3YO 1600 metres this Sunday, Jan. 26, at Ellerslie, Spellbinder is unbeaten in two starts on the course after winning the Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) earlier in the season and will offer stiff opposition to her rivals.

An impressive winner on debut recently at Rotorua, Equanimity (Hercock) contests the Special Conditions 1400 metres on Sunday at Ellerslie. She worked with Sir Darci (Cameron) over 1200 metres in 1:17.3, and 35.7 for the last 600m.
