Te Akau Trainers Tops
2 June, 2016
It is something that we are very proud of - Te Akau trainers in both New Zealand and in Singapore are still leading their respective Premierships - that is such an exciting achievement for everyone!
In New Zealand we are now into the final two months of the 2015/16 season and the winter conditions are well and truly upon us - you won't see as many Te Akau starters in the next eight weeks but you will still see some smart types stepping out in the tangerine or the colours of those owners who have entrusted us with their horses. Many of our horses are enjoying their break, well rugged up and warm on the farm while others, having spelled, are just starting to head back in to the stable to begin their preparations for Spring.
In New Zealand, Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards have a seven-win lead on the Premiership, and have also won the most Group and Listed races (10) - four of those have been Group 1 races, the NZ 1000/2000 Guineas, the NRM Sprint and the Diamond Stakes - no other stable has won four Group 1 races in New Zealand this season. Stake money won for our owners has now passed the $2 million mark.

In Singapore with just five months of the season completed, reigning Champion Trainer of 2015 Mark Walker also sits on top of the Premiership. With 39 wins and 40 second and 40 third placings, Mark is flying. Half the season not yet over and already $2 million in stakes has been achieved - due to the very good stakes on offer in Singapore.
