12:56 p.m. R1 7 Paper Moon (3 f Savabeel – Kansas) – Joe Doyle; she circled from last with a good solid finish for fifth in the Maiden 3YO 1050 metres on 11 March at Matamata, and contests the the $17,000 Maiden 2YO & 3YO 1200 metres. Runner-up over 1000 metres in January, she receives an ideal opportunity to improve second-up from barrier one. Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.85. She is also accepted in race two.
Sandown:
Weather: overcast, track: Good4, rail: out 3 metres. No rain forecast.
2:55 p.m. (NZ) - 12:55 p.m. (Vic) R1 2 Harry Met Sally (2 g Yes Yes Yes – Agueda) – Lachlan Neindorf; he sustained a strong gallop after quickening to lead at the 200m to win the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on 10 March at Ballarat, and contests the A$60,000 2YO 1400 metres. He has delivered three good efforts this time in, is handily drawn (5), and rates a top three chance. NZ TAB fixed odds: $6.00 & $2.05.
4:40 p.m. (NZ) - 2:40 p.m. (Vic) R4 4 Cinturato (3 g Shamus Award – Pirellina) – Lachlan Neindorf; he was back and wide in the VOBIS Platinum Guineas (1600m) on 14 March at Caulfield, and drops back in class for the A$60,000 Benchmark 66 3YO 1600 metres. He had absolutely no joy last time, but has fashioned a good record prior, and is perfectly drawn (4) to bounce back with a solid performance. NZ TAB fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.25.
